“Finding a local company who could manufacture packing cases to meet the recent ISPM15 timber packaging regulations for our aftersales department was high on our agenda. R. West & Son in Plymouth has successfully provided us with a reliable solution to this problem.”
GRANT HOOPER, HEAD OF MATERIALS & AFTERSALES, PRINCESS YACHTS INTERNATIONAL PLC
“When we made the decision to move our manufacturing facility to China, there were several issues that needed hands-on management. When it came to shipping the machinery and components, the R. West & Son team took full control of the move, from arranging the containers to the packaging and paperwork required to complete the move. This was one less headache to deal with. A good, all-round job and R. West & Son are thoroughly recommended to anyone else needing a similar service.”
STEVE BROADSTOCK, MANAGING DIRECTOR, BRITISH FLY REELS
“Having recently moved down to the sticks of Cornwall from the great hamster wheel of the M25, Studio Systems was desperate to find reliable and cost-effective packers for their Europe wide distribution of used recording studio mixing consoles. The answer was R. West & Son! On entering their yard, you are immediately struck by their timber mountain of packing solutions. At last, no more courier dropping headaches, no more worries, the equipment was going to get there in one piece and the client gets some free firewood in the bargain – job done!”
TIM JONES, STUDIO SYSTEMS
“We have been trading with R. West & Son for 10 years now, annually giving them an order of between 20 and 200 sledge ration boxes for the use of expeditions in Antarctica. The fundamental design of these ration boxes has remained unchanged since Scots time in the early 1900`s. with many components in their construction, such as rope handles, ribbon ties, metal edging and a hinged lid. The standard of product and finish is a very important consideration in these ration boxes as their contents may have to keep people alive in a survival situation, with temperatures of –50 for a long period of time. R West & Son have always maintained the standard of workmanship required and have always delivered within the specified times given. A thank you must be extended to the R. West & Son team and we look forward to many more years of business together.”
KEITH PRESTON, ANDREW LUSK & CO

“Just to let you know that I collected the mattresses last week. I am more than happy with the way you crated them. I would have no hesitation in using your services again or recommending you to anyone else that would benefit from your expertise. Finally nice to have had a decent night’s sleep!”
MR A.B
“I just want to say a massive thank you to you and your team in getting the cases made. They were fun getting them into the van as they are big, but they will do the job nicely! The freight company comes to pick up the illusions in their cases on Friday and the next time I hope to see them is on the ship so fingers crossed.”
ALEX LODGE, THE DISAPPEARING MAGICIAN
“We would like to take the opportunity of thanking the R. West team for all your efforts in co-ordinating the moving of the equipment and machinery at the factory in Falmouth through to Xiamen in China. The fact that part of the service you offered included services that are normally classified as an “extra” by other companies, was a real benefit to Sagittarius, and the fact that you not only manufactured specialized pallets – you also coordinated freight forwarders, crane and heavy equipment hire, through to excess equipment sales and even factory clearance was exceptionally beneficial to our group and me personally. What was in theory a difficult task for us – was in reality, made so much easier – solely as a direct result of your efforts, and the efforts of your staff. Again, please accept our sincerest thanks.”
CHRIS OWEN, EUROPEAN VICE PRESIDENT, SAGITTARIUS SPORTING GOODS
“Thanks for a great job regarding the special crates for Columbia, your help and quick response is second to none. I hope we can work together in the future!”
DAVID STOCKLEY, CERAMIC MACHINERY SALES
