The fundamental design of these ration boxes has remained unchanged since Scots time in the early 1900`s. with many components in their construction, such as rope handles, ribbon ties, metal edging and a hinged lid. The standard of product and finish is a very important consideration in these ration boxes as their contents may have to keep people alive in a survival situation, with temperatures of –50 for a long period of time.
